Chapter 1 is learning and teaching in higher education and it provides an overview of the research and of the book. Chapter 2 is A model for understanding learning and teaching in higher education which introduceds and describes a theoritical model which forms the binding for the theme of variation throughout the book. Chapter 1-3 have a similar structure and each chapter is self-contained. Chapter 7 focuses on teaching and the last chapter is understanding learning and teaching.
